Crushing CAT 2025

Your Roadmap to B-School Success

CAT 2025
Dreaming of that converted IIM call? Or perhaps envisioning yourself at another top B-school in India? The journey to CAT 2025 begins now, and while the road may seem long, trust us — with the right mindset and strategy, you’ll not only conquer the CAT but thrive along the way.

Why Start Early?

CAT isn’t just an exam. It’s a battle of endurance, intellect, and strategy. Starting early gives you the luxury of time to master the concepts, identify your weaknesses, and develop iron-clad test-taking habits. It’s not about cramming last-minute; it’s about slow, consistent growth.

Month-by-Month Breakdown

Month 1-3: Building the Foundation

Think of this as the groundwork phase. Start by familiarizing yourself with the syllabus and exam pattern. The CAT tests three areas — Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR).
  • VARC: Pick up reading habits. Devour newspapers, novels, and editorials. Your reading speed and comprehension are your superpowers here. You can also make use of Quantifiers Free Daily Targets.
  • DILR: Begin with easy level puzzles and solve sets everyday. Make sure to be consistent because once you start getting the hang of it, DILR is fun and productive.
  • QA: Dust off those high school math books. Focus on arithmetic, algebra, and number systems. Start slow and steady.

Month 4-6: Conceptual Mastery

Now, it is time to get serious. Join a coaching class if needed or enrol in an online program like Quantifiers and Focus on Sectional tests.
  • Goal: Solidify concepts. If you are weak in a particular area, give it extra attention.
  • Tip: Maintain error logs. Every mistake you make should be recorded and analysed.

Month 7-9: Test the Waters

Mock tests are your best friend here. By now, you should be comfortable with most topics. Start taking full-length mocks and analyzing performance.
  • Key Focus: Accuracy over speed. Speed will follow naturally.
  • Pro Tip: Experiment with strategies. Figure out what works best for you.

Month 10-12: Full Throttle

By now, the CAT should feel like second nature. Increase the frequency of mocks. Challenge yourself with tougher questions and identify patterns.
  • Focus: Time management and stress handling.
  • Mindset: Stay calm, stay hungry.
  • It’s crunch time. Revise formulas, short tricks, and strategies. Take one mock every other day and review them religiously.
  • Rest: Do not burn out. Keep a healthy balance of prep and relaxation.
  • Visualization: Picture yourself acing the exam. Believe in your preparation.
