Types of Scholarships

  1. Need-Based Financial Aid: Offered to students from low to moderate-income families.
  2. Merit-Based Scholarships: Awarded for academic excellence and outstanding performance.
  3. Merit-cum-Means Scholarships: For students who display both academic merit and financial need.
  4. Corporate/Private Scholarships: Sponsored by reputed companies or foundations.
  5. Special Scholarships: Aimed at specific groups, like women or SC/ST categories.

Scholarships at Top IIMs

IIM Ahmedabad

  • Need-Based Assistance: For family income < ₹15 lakh. Includes full/partial fee waivers.
  • SC/ST Scholarship: ₹150/month for 10 months to all SC/ST students.

IIM Bangalore

  • Need-Based Aid:Available for students with family income < ₹10 lakh. Covers 25% to 100% of the fees.
  • Director’s Merit List:Awarded to the top 5% of students after the first year.

IIM Calcutta

  • Need-Based Financial Aid: For students with family income < ₹4.5 lakh.
  • Corporate Scholarships: Sponsored by Aditya Birla Group, Ratan Tata Trust, HUL, OP Jindal, and more.

IIM Lucknow

  • Need-Based Scholarship: Open to all students based on income.Scholarships are disbursed term-wise and reviewed annually. Only one scholarship allowed per student.

IIM Kozhikode

  • Merit Scholarships: One for every 20 students per academic year, based on CGPA.
  • Need-Based Financial Aid: For students with family income < ₹8 lakh and those who’ve availed an education loan.

IIM Indore

  • Need-Based Aid: For family income < ₹12 lakh. Requires an education loan. Aid is awarded via a two-step evaluation process.

MDI Gurgaon

  • Merit-cum-Means Scholarships: Top 15 students with income < ₹8 lakh: 100% tuition fee waiver.
  • 10 additional students: 50% waiver based on term-wise academic performance.
  • AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver: As per central government policy.

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research

  • Merit Scholarship Category A: Based on academic history, entrance scores, top-tier graduation institutes, and interview.
  • Merit Scholarship Category B:
    • CAT 95+ percentile: up to $10,000
    • GMAT 710+, GRE 329+: up to $10,000
