1. CAT - DILR Condition Based Set 1

Five students – A, B, C, D and E – wrote an objective type test paper in which there were four questions – Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 – with four possible answer choices – 1, 2, 3 and 4 – for each question. Only one choice is correct for each question and the correct answer choice for no two questions is the same. One mark is awarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. Each student attempted all the questions and each got a different score.
Further, the following information is known:

  1. ​​A, B, C and E marked choice 3 for Q2, whereas A, B, D and E marked choice 2 for Q4.
  2. D got the lowest score and B’s score was less than that of E.
  3. The number of questions for which both C and E marked the same answer choice is not more than two.
  4. B, D and E marked choice 1 for Q3, and A marked choice 4 for Q1.
  5. Between Q1 and Q2, B marked choice 3 for one and choice 1 for the other, not necessarily in that order.
  6. D did not mark the same choice for any two questions.

Four women – Amrita, Babita, Chameli and Dimple – and three men – Eshwar, Farooq and Ganesh — were part of a party. These men and women comprised three married couples and a widow. The widow was the host of the party. After the party, they decided to play carom. They played exactly four games, each starting at 9:00 pm, 10:00 pm, 11:00 pm and 12:00 am respectively. The following information was also known about the games:
  1. The host played in the first and the last game.
  2. The members of any married couple were never partners in a game.
  3. The host won none of the games, while Dimple and Amrita won exactly one game each.
  4. As Eshwar was getting late, he didn’t play after the 10:00 pm game.
  5. Not more than one married couple ever played in the same game.

Akshay, Manoj, Pradeep, Vishal, Vinod and Priya received a total of fifty presents for Christmas. The difference in the number of presents received by Manoj and Akshay is same as that received by Vinod and Priya.

The number of presents that Manoj received is twice that of Vishal.

The number of presents received by Pradeep is thrice that of Vinod.

The number of presents received by Priya, Vinod, Vishal, Pradeep, Manoj and Akshay are in increasing order.
