SNAP 2026 Preparation Plan: A 75-Day Roadmap to the December Tests

SNAP Test 1 is on 13 December, Test 2 on 19 December and Test 3 on 26 December, and today is 5 October. This SNAP 2026 preparation plan turns the next 75 days into four clear phases, built around the four-section paper Symbiosis has set for this year, so you reach the test hall with a tested routine instead of a vague hope.

Quick answer: A workable SNAP 2026 preparation plan has four phases. Days 1–25 build fundamentals and a diagnostic baseline. Days 26–50 raise speed with timed sectional sets. Days 51–70 are a mock-heavy sprint. Days 71–75 are a light taper. Day 1 is 5 October 2026 and Day 75 is 18 December, the evening before Test 2. Registration closes on 25 November 2026.

Why a 75-Day SNAP 2026 Preparation Plan Works

Count 5 October as Day 1 and the arithmetic turns out neat. Day 75 lands on 18 December, the evening before SNAP Test 2. Test 1 falls on Day 70 and Test 3 on Day 83. So this SNAP 2026 preparation plan treats Test 2 as your main attempt, Test 1 as an optional live rehearsal, and Test 3 as your safety net.

That structure matters because Symbiosis allows up to three SNAP tests and counts your higher score for the final percentile. You are not betting everything on a single morning. You are building a routine that can survive one bad day.

SNAP dates are from the official SNAP important dates page; the CAT date is from iimcat.ac.in. Symbiosis may revise its schedule in unavoidable circumstances, so recheck the official pages before you act on any date.

One practical point before anything else: register this week, not on 24 November. Test dates and cities are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and once the registration fee is paid you cannot change the test date or city. Choosing your slots early gives you the pick of centres and lets you plan the plan around real dates.

What the Official SNAP 2026 Test Structure Means for You

The official SNAP 2026 test structure is a 60-minute computer-based test with 60 objective questions, four options each. Every correct answer earns 1 mark, and every wrong answer costs 25% of a mark. You may attempt the sections in any order.

Table 2: SNAP 2026 sections and a suggested starting attempt target
SectionQuestionsMarksSuggested starting target*
General English10107–9 attempts
Analytical and Logical Reasoning202015–18 attempts
Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency202012–15 attempts
Ethics, Morality and Values10107–9 attempts
Total606041–51 attempts
*Section structure is official. The attempt targets are Quantifiers’ coaching suggestion for a first baseline, not an official figure. Adjust them after your Day 2 diagnostic mock.

Two things follow from this structure for your SNAP 2026 preparation plan. First, with 60 questions in 60 minutes you have roughly a minute per question, so selection matters more than heroics on any single problem. Second, the arithmetic of negative marking is gentler than most people fear: a blind guess has a small positive expected value, and once you can eliminate even one option the expected gain from attempting rises to roughly a sixth of a mark. Reckless guessing is still a bad habit, but fearful skipping costs marks too. If you want a framework for deciding which questions to take on, our guide to question selection strategy applies directly.

Also note that calculators and electronic gadgets are not allowed in the test hall, which makes mental maths and fast written estimation part of your preparation from the first week.

SNAP 2026 Preparation Plan, Phase 1: Days 1–25

Dates: 5 October to 29 October. The goal of this phase is simple: know where you stand and fix the foundations.

Days 1–2: take a diagnostic

Sit one full 60-minute paper under test conditions. The official SNAP site lists a SNAP mock test; check what it covers before relying on it for the Ethics section. After the paper, record four numbers for each section: questions attempted, accuracy, time spent, and the topics you skipped. Those numbers set your personal targets for the next 73 days.

Days 3–25: the weekly rhythm

  • Five learning days: alternate between Quant plus Data Interpretation on some days and Reasoning plus English on others, with roughly 2.5 to 3 hours of focused work daily.
  • One sectional day: a timed 20-minute set from one section, followed by a written error log.
  • One light day: revision of the error log, formula notes and vocabulary. Rest is part of the plan.

For Quant, start with arithmetic you can do quickly without a calculator: percentages, ratios, averages, profit and loss, time and work, and speed and distance. Add basic algebra and number properties, then Data Interpretation (tables, bar and line graphs, caselets) and Data Sufficiency. For Reasoning, build comfort with arrangements, puzzles, syllogisms, blood relations, series and critical-reasoning style questions. For English, read for 30 minutes daily, practise reading comprehension, and revise grammar rules and vocabulary in context.

SNAP 2026 Preparation Plan, Phase 2: Days 26–50

Dates: 30 October to 23 November. Now the focus shifts from understanding to speed. Every practice set gets a clock.

  • Sectional drills: 20 Reasoning or Quant questions in 20 minutes, 10 English or Ethics questions in 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Mock frequency: one full mock every fifth day, moving to one every third day by Day 45.
  • Error log: classify every miss as concept gap, calculation slip, misread question, or poor selection. Fix the biggest category first.
  • Ethics practice: three short sessions a week on scenario-based questions (details in the Ethics section below).

Finish your registration formalities inside this phase. By Day 52 the portal closes, and you do not want a payment or photo problem to eat into mock time.

Writing CAT on 29 November as well?

CAT 2026 falls on Day 56, in the middle of this plan. Keep Phases 1 and 2 as they are, because most of the skills overlap, then let CAT revision take priority from Day 51 to Day 56 and resume SNAP-specific mocks from Day 57. If you want structured support for that stretch, see our Sangharsh CAT crash course. For a general two-month framework that is not SNAP-specific, our CAT 2 months preparation plan is a useful comparison.

SNAP 2026 Preparation Plan, Phase 3: Days 51–70

Dates: 24 November to 13 December. This is the mock-heavy sprint. New learning drops sharply; practice and analysis take over.

  • Take a full 60-minute mock every second day, at the same time of day as your chosen test slot.
  • Spend at least as long analysing each mock as you spent taking it. A mock without analysis is only a score.
  • Rehearse your section order: decide in advance whether you open with Reasoning or English, and stick to it.
  • Keep two short daily habits alive: 20 minutes of reading and 15 minutes of Ethics scenarios.

Key takeaway

By the end of Phase 3 you should have taken roughly 8 to 10 full mocks. If your last three scores sit within a few marks of each other, your routine is stable and Test 2 is a sensible main attempt. If they swing widely, use Test 3 as the real target and treat Test 2 as a rehearsal.

A note on Test 1, which falls on Day 70 (13 December). Each test carries its own fee of INR 2,550 plus applicable taxes, and you choose dates at registration. A sensible rule is to book Tests 2 and 3 at minimum, and add Test 1 only if you want a live rehearsal and the extra fee is comfortable for you. Your higher score counts, so an extra attempt can only help, but it should not drain your Phase 3 study time.

Final Taper: Days 71–75

Dates: 14 December to 18 December. The work is done; protect it.

  • Day 71: one final full mock, or detailed analysis of Test 1 if you took it.
  • Days 72–73: revise your error log, formula sheet and vocabulary list. No new topics.
  • Day 74: a light 30-minute sectional warm-up and an early night.
  • Day 75: rest. Download and print your admit card (Test 2 admit cards are available from 11 December), keep your original photo ID ready, and locate the test centre. The official instructions advise doing this a day in advance, and late arrivals are not admitted once the gates close.

How to Prepare the Ethics, Morality and Values Section

Ethics, Morality and Values carries 10 questions and 10 marks in the 2026 structure, the same weight as General English. The official structure page does not publish a topic list for it, so be wary of anyone who claims a definitive syllabus. Older mock papers and last year’s books may not include it at all, so check any practice material against the four sections in Table 2.

What you can do is prepare for how such questions are likely to work: they test judgment in a situation. A sound routine is:

  • Read a short workplace or social scenario and identify who is affected and what principle is at stake, such as honesty, fairness, confidentiality or conflict of interest.
  • List the realistic options, then eliminate the ones that harm a stakeholder or break a rule without need.
  • Pick the option a thoughtful, responsible professional would defend, not the cleverest one.
  • Keep it quick. Budget about 8 minutes for the whole section in a mock, and review your reasoning afterwards.

Fifteen minutes a day from about Day 8 onwards is enough to build the habit. The skill transfers well to decision-making questions in other management exams too.

Attempt Strategy for 60 Questions in 60 Minutes

Here is a starting time budget you can test in your mocks and refine:

Table 3: Suggested time budget for a 60-minute SNAP paper
SectionTimeApproach
General English8 minutesTake quick wins; skip long passages that look dense
Ethics, Morality and Values8 minutesRead the scenario once, choose, move on
Analytical and Logical Reasoning20 minutesStart with the shortest sets; leave heavy puzzles for the second pass
Quantitative, DI and DS22 minutesPick calculation-light questions first
Review buffer2 minutesRevisit marked questions only
This is a suggested budget, not an official one. SNAP has no prescribed order, so reorder the sections to suit your strengths once your mocks show a pattern.

Work in two passes. On the first pass, answer everything you can solve in under a minute and mark the rest. On the second pass, return to marked questions in order of how close you were to a solution. Avoid sinking four minutes into one question; at SNAP’s pace that is the cost of three others.

Mistakes that cost the most marks

Skipping the error log, taking mocks without analysing them, switching study material every week, and leaving Ethics for the last fortnight. Each one is easy to fix in the first two weeks of your plan and painful to fix in the last two.

Stay with this SNAP 2026 preparation plan for the full 75 days, check the official SNAP website regularly for any change, and adjust your targets only after a mock tells you to.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days are left for SNAP 2026?

As of 5 October 2026, Test 1 (13 December) is 69 days away, Test 2 (19 December) is 75 days away and Test 3 (26 December) is 82 days away. This SNAP 2026 preparation plan uses the 75 days up to the eve of Test 2.

Is 75 days enough to prepare for SNAP?

For most graduates comfortable with school-level maths and English, 75 days of 2.5 to 3 focused hours a day is a realistic runway, because the paper is short and the syllabus is compact. If your basics are weak, treat Test 3 as your main attempt.

How many times can I attempt SNAP 2026?

You can appear for up to three SNAP tests. If you take more than one, your higher score is used for the final percentile.

Is there negative marking in SNAP 2026?

Yes. Each wrong answer attracts a penalty of 25% of the marks for that question, so a wrong answer costs 0.25 marks.

What are the SNAP 2026 registration deadline and fees?

Registration and payment close on 25 November 2026. The fee is INR 2,550 per test and INR 1,000 per programme, plus applicable taxes. Both are non-refundable, and the test date or city cannot be changed after the registration fee is paid.

Can I attempt SNAP sections in any order?

Yes. The official instructions say you may attempt any section in any order, which is why your section order should be rehearsed in mocks.

Can I follow this SNAP 2026 preparation plan while preparing for CAT?

Yes, with an adjustment. CAT 2026 is on 29 November (Day 56), so give CAT priority from Day 51 to Day 56 and restart SNAP-specific mocks from Day 57. Confirm the latest CAT details on the official CAT website.
